Imagine a technician facing a difficult situation and not knowing the answer. By using the Windows Hololens, a kind of head display allowing to see through and to interact with holograms, he can video skype a colleague or a support center and share what he sees. Based on what the technician sees, support can give instructions and even draw e.g. arrows in augmented reality to point out where the technician has to do what. This could also be used by technicians on the move. A test has been carried out at Volvo Truck Center. By using Hololens in this early stage we want to learn together with our technicians how we can increase our efficiency and customer satisfaction. At the same time we connect people throughout the company.
Providing work instructions with the Hololens will reduce the number of mistakes compared to paper instructions.
